We're getting ready?

How about You?
This past year has presented its own share of challenges, but with the support from partners like YOU, we are Still Here and Still Running.
We are running for Florence, Anthonia, Julie, Gift, Justina, Bimpe and the countless others who have fought and will fight breast cancer in Nigeria. We ask you to run with us and support us for RFCA’s 8th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Run, March 11, 2017. The theme this year is #StillHereStillRunning.

Will YOU Run with Us?
Online registration opens Jan. 12, in-person registration from Feb. 1.
2017 Here We Come!
2016 was full of firsts and milestones for RFCA. On March 8, 2016, we had the privilege of commissioning the one-stop breast clinic at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital. Through a grant from Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Mobil Producing Nigeria Joint Venture, we renovated a space where women can go to get comprehensive and consistent care and information about breast health.

With our partners at Shoprite Community Network we expanded our breast cancer screening program across the Southern region of Nigeria. We conducted free screenings across Lagos, in Abia, Delta, and Ogun State. In 2016, this partnership helped us screen nearly 2000 individuals at NO COST. That is nearly 2000 more people that were given clinical breast exams, scans and/or follow up biopsies in addition to education on how to be breast aware and to reduce their risks of breast cancer, #earlydetectionsaveslives.

Also in 2016, we established our Patient Navigation Program (PNP). This program was created to attach breast cancer fighters to an advocate that will navigate and coach them through the sometimes confusing and scary breast cancer journey in Nigeria. Patient navigation has been shown to increase patient adherence which directly increases survival rates.

We've made some pretty significant strides this past year and we are looking forward to doing even more in 2017.
