Three of Canada’s top comics are performing in Saskatoon this March for an International Women’s Day charity benefit for the YWCA. Special access to pre-sale tickets is available for YWCA supporters on Dec.14-15.
Jen Grant, Christina Walkinshaw, and Erica Sigurdson are funny women with impressive resumes. Their Tuesday, March 7 performance in Saskatoon promises to blend women’s issues with humour and an edge.
YWCA supporters can purchase pre-sale tickets to get access to the best seats or to purchase tickets as holiday gifts. The YWCA pre-sale tickets are offered only from noon on Wednesday, Dec. 14 until midnight Thursday, Dec 15. Use pre-sale code FUNNY (all capital letters).
Tickets are $40 with assigned seating, and available for the general public Dec. 16 on the Broadway Theatre website, by phone at 306-652-6556, or in person at the Broadway Theatre.
Jen Grant has performed at the Just for Laughs Festival, the Halifax Comedy Festival, and the Winnipeg Comedy Festival. She can also be heard on CBC‘s “The Debaters” and has her own TV special on The Comedy Network. One of her proudest moments was performing for the troops in the Middle East. From topics such as her cool mom to dating a younger man to her love of naps, she will have you laughing until you’re crying.
Christina Walkinshaw is a stand-up comic living in Toronto. Her half hour comedy special often runs in the middle of the night while you’re sleeping. You’ve seen her on Just For Laughs, the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, and at the liquor store, and she is a regular on CBC’s “The Debaters.” She is an active blogger who blends humour with women’s issues.
Erica Sigurdson is best known for her rapier wit on CBC’s “The Debaters.” She has recorded numerous TV specials, and her festival credits include Montreal Just for Laughs, The Winnipeg Comedy Festival, the Halifax Comedy Festival, and the Vancouver Comedy Festival. Erica’s co-writing on the 21st Annual Gemini Awards earned a Leo Award for Best Comedy Screenwriting.
