Special Town Meeting

There is a Special Town Meeting on Monday, December 12th, 7 PM at the Jr/Sr High School Auditorium.

Article 1: Requesting expansion of the EB Public Library. If approved, the library trustees will move forward to apply for grants that would help to pay for the cost of the Library expansion. No new funds are involved from the town budget at this time.

Article 2 is in regards a solar energy program.

Articles 3, 4 and 5 have to do with expanding the town sewer system along RT. 18., to transfer funds and appropriate money  (funding will be from free cash, is $570K. $520K will be bonded.) for the purpose of designing, permitting and constructing a sewer main extension northerly from the rear of EB Jr/Sr High School within the right of way of Bedford Street up to the intersection of Spring Street. CVS will also be going into the center of town at Bedford St and Spring St. CVS will be paying the town approximately $70K to hook into this system if approved.

Article 6 is in regards to housing bylaws in the town to adjust the amount of acreage required for 55+ housing.

Whether you are for or against these articles, attending the meeting on Monday is the only way your voice can be heard.

With only 6 articles being presented, it should not be a very long meeting. There needs to be a quorum of 150 people.
