2017 Spring Ball Registration - NOW OPEN!

Registration for the UCLL 2017 Spring baseball season is now open! Please visit our web site, www.ucll.org, to register your children. Early registration will run until December 21, after which a late registration fee of $20 will be added.

Document Collection - December 10

This year we are providing online documentation submittal. We encourage you to take advantage of this feature to make our registration process a little easier for everyone. You will still need to come to a document collection event to submit a snack bar deposit.

We had a hiccup in our online registration process for those who registered earlier in the registration period (before November 20 or so). There was nowhere for you to upload your proof of residency if you were submitting that documentation rather than a school enrollment form to prove eligibility to play in UCLL. Everyone should fall into one of the following three categories:
  • If you are using a school enrollment form, you can upload that using our online document collection process, no matter when you registered.
  • If you are using proof of residency and your registration page shows that you can submit your proof of residency documents online, you can still use that process.
  • If you want to provide proof of residency and you do not see anywhere on your registration page to submit that documentation, you will need to attend the final document collection event to submit that paperwork.
All families need to attend the document collection event anyway to submit a snack bar deposit. If you missed the first one, we will be having a second this weekend.

We will be having our final document collection event on Saturday, December 10 from 9am to 1pm at Canyonside Baseball and Softball Academy, where they will also be holding a free skills clinic.

Free Skills Clinic - Saturday, December 10

There will be a free skills clinic at Canyonside Baseball for all UCLL registered players. Saturday, Dec. 10th, 9 am - 1 pm during our document collection event. Please RSVP to Dusty Reisch: president@ucll.org

Suggested times:
T-ball/Maps: 9 - 10 am
Minors: 10 - 11 am
Intermediate: 11 am - 12 pm
Juniors: 12 - 1 pm

If you can't make it to the suggested times for your child's age group, you are still welcome to join at any of the other times.

Many thanks to coach Dave Ring for being a supporter of UCLL.

Work Party! - Saturday, December 17

Bats

Little League International has announced that they will be updating their baseball bat standards starting with the 2018 season. They have posted the announcement on their web site at http://www.littleleague.org/media/llnewsarchive/2015/may-august/little-league-usa-baseball-bat-standard-2018.htm. If you follow the link at the bottom of the page that takes you to the USA Baseball web site, they note that bat manufacturers will begin selling bats that are approved for the 2018 season in the fall of 2017. For that reason, we are recommending that you do not purchase a new bat for the 2017 season, and if you do, to be aware that you will not be able to use it for the 2018 season unless it has the USA Baseball logo.

Sponsorship

Interested in sponsoring a UCLL baseball team and get your business advertised in newsletters, directory, on our website, and on the field reaching all of University City and more than 200 families? You can get all that advertising for only $250 a team! Sponsorships start as low as $65 for a business card size advertisement and go up to $500 to have two banners hung throughout the UCLL season at two of our three UCLL fields. Please contact our ads and sponsors chair, Paula Obrigewitch, at pccinpb@san.rr.com for more information.

Volunteers Needed!

As you can see from our contacts page, we have many open UCLL Board positions that need filling. We encourage you to help your community Little League and volunteer for an open position. Without volunteers, there is no Little League. You can either contact a board member directly by email, or you can note on your child's registration that you are interested in volunteering. Of course, besides the UCLL Board, we also invite you to consider coaching or managing a team this year. Or do both, like many of our current board members!

Upcoming Events

You can add our league calendar to your smartphone so you won't miss any of our events! Please see our web site for details.
