Weekly Energy Saving Tip #31:
Use Your Climate Credit!

Did you notice a credit of $38 on your October or November SCE (electric) bill? That was the California Climate Credit, money from a state program to help you save energy and fight climate change!

Here are 5 ways to use your $38 Climate Credit to save energy:
1. Buy LED light bulbs to replace your incandescent bulbs. (More info here)
2. Get a new HVAC filter. (More info here)
3. Install a low-flow showerhead. (More info here)
4. Use weatherstripping and caulking. (More info here)
5. Save up for an appliance. The Climate Credit will be applied to your bill twice a year (Oct/Nov and Apr/May) from now until at least 2020--that could be an extra $300 in the next few years! When coupled with rebates from SCE and SoCal Gas, that $300 could go a long way toward a new smart thermostat, washer/dryer, other other larger appliances.
