Even though Giving Tuesday came and went, we are always still looking for donations. After all, 'tis the season for giving! Please spread the word about our Giving Grid as it is still very much active. These donations are vital to helping dogs and every dollar directly impacts the lives of the dogs we save.

Have a wonderful holiday season and again, we thank you for your wonderful donation!

WHISKEY is stuck in boarding!
Terrier mix, 2 yrs old, 13 lbs. Whiskey seems to be an easy going boy that is just happy to be out of the shelter. He is good with other dogs and we think he may be a good dog for a first time foster.

MENUDO is stuck in boarding!
Doxie/shepherd mix, 2 yrs, 25 lbs. Menudo is a super playful boy that loves playing with his toys and cuddling. He is housebroken, good with other dogs, kids, and walk well on leash. Menudo even knows sit, stay and go get it.
SAGE is stuck in boarding!
Rat Terrier/Chihuahua Mix, 2 yrs old, 12 lbs. Sage is an absolute sweetheart, she loves human contact and will give you kisses all day. She really enjoys car rides and is good with other dogs. She does seem to have some minor separation anxiety because she seems to build a quick attachment to her human.

SCOTTY is stuck in boarding!
Maltese/Poodle, Terripoo mix, 2 years old, 12 lbs. Scotty's owner lost her home so he was brought to us for rehoming. He has been a little stressed out at losing his family but we expect him to settle down shortly. He gets along well with cats and dogs although he can be a little jealous of other dogs at times. He is pee pad trained and we are housetraining him now to go outside. He is friendly, submissive and loves to snuggle. He is used to being part of a pack as he lived in a home with four other dogs.

CAMDEN is stuck in boarding!
Maltese/Yorkie mix, 1 yrs old, 13 lbs. Camden went into the shelter as a stray. He is good with other dogs, but he is a little nervous when meeting new people. He  shakes like a leaf, but warms up quickly. He shows no aggression but due to his lack of confidence and being a bit skittish, we do not recommend him for a home with small kids at this time, until we get to know him a little better. We think that he is not a shedder so he may be hypoallergenic.

BOBBY is stuck in boarding!
Wire-haired Terrier/Dachsund mix, 3 yrs old, 25 lbs. Bobby is ready for a foster home. An ideal foster for Bobby is with someone who can provide daily exercise via hiking or jogging and to be the only dog in the home. Bobby likes to be kept busy in a calm quiet environment. He is very intelligent and likes to keep his mind stimulated. He is also crate and house trained, walks well using an easy walk harness provided, and thrives on structure and routine. He is hoping a young couple to take him in and make him feel special and cherished.

MINCHU is stuck in boarding!
Spaniel / Corgi / Pomeranian mix, 3 yrs, 14 lbs. Minchu is a real head turner. He is very high energy, outgoing and a friendly guy who is good with other dogs. Minchu is confident, playful and independent. He is a little needy and will cry for attention; he also may guard certain toys with his owner. He seems to be crate trained. Minchu has some separation anxiety and he may cry when left alone. He needs an active home and might be a handful for a first time owner. We think Minchu would do best with an experienced owner and we do not recommend him for a home with small kids.

TOBY is stuck in boarding!
Wheaten Terrier mix, 4 years old, 38 lbs. Toby has a happy, easy going personality. He is curious, smart as a whip, and is a high-energy guy who needs a lot of daily exercise and a patient, experienced hand. We recommend a secure home and a secure outdoor area, as he can be a little bit of an escape artist if he's left alone in a yard all day. He is crate trained and housetrained and knows basic commands. Toby would be happier as an only dog in a home with no cats and no kids under the age of 13.

MARYGOLD is stuck in boarding!
Australian Terrier mix, 5 yrs old, 14 lbs. Marygold is a sweet little girl who has been surprisingly overlooked at the shelter. Though she is shy at first, she soon opens up like the sunny flower after which she is named. She seems to enjoy a good romp with the other dogs around her.

SHADOW is stuck in boarding!
Poodle, 6 yrs old, 14 lbs. Shadow went into the shelter a horrible matted mess and had to be sedated because his matts were so tight. He looks like a million bucks now! Shadow is a very gentle sweet boy. He did cry in his crate but was fine when out of it, so at this time not sure if he has some separation anxiety or if he just needs some crate training. Otherwise, he is an easy going boy that is good with other dogs.

GATSBY is stuck in boarding!
Maltese/Poodle Mix (Maltipoo Mix), 4 yrs old, 13 lbs. Gatsby came out of the shelter a matted mess. He went in as a stray off the streets, so we don't know his history, but he may not have had a lot of human contact and is not used to the outside world. He jumps at loud noises or sudden movements and will try to run or hide if you approach him. He has not shown any signs of aggression and once you get him in your arms he turns to mush. He just seems to need to learn to trust and understand it's safe. Because of his fear issues, no young children for now.

TABITHA is stuck in boarding!
Jack Russel Terrier / Terrier mix, 2 yrs, 14 lbs. Tabitha loves to give kisses and play with her toys. She's a tail-chaser and has lots of energy to burn. She'd make a great jogging partner. Tabitha was an owner surrender to the shelter because her family moved away and didn't take her with them. She was kept indoors and was not socialized very much, so she can be nervous around new people. She is not aggressive but she will run from fear so needs a secure environment. She growled and bared her teeth the first few times we handled her, trying to trim nails and examine her etc. She can also be a little mouthy. Because of this we do not recommend her for a home with kids and she will need an experienced foster. When she is not stressed she is sweet and loving and eager to explore. She loves her cuddles. She is crate trained and housetrained and is learning to walk on leash but at the moment she is pulling. Again, an experienced foster or forever person can help her with all of these issues.

ARCHER is stuck in boarding!
Cocker Spaniel / Poodle mix (Cockapoo), 4 yrs, 18 lbs. Archer went into the shelter as a stray. He was extremely scared upon intake, but has really opened up and will now approach people and give kisses. He is high energy, very vocal and loves attention. Beware. Archer is an extreme kisser!!! He can bark a little when put into his crate but it doesn't last long. He can be aggressive with certain dogs and he does pull on the leash. He also tends to mark a lot. Can be very pushy with people for attention. We do not recommend him for a home with small kids as he may jump up for kisses and knock them over. He may not be the best apartment dog due to his barking; he alarm barks at certain strangers approaching. Disclaimer: although Archer is generally good with people and letting them pet him, he did nip a stranger when he was leashed He would need an experienced owner who is skilled at introducing dogs to strangers. We can also help with providing this knowledge.

JUNIOR is stuck in boarding!
Toy/Mini Poodle, 2 yrs, 20 lbs. We think that Junior may have had a difficult past and although he can be a loving boy and loves human attention, he has shown some aggression and will bite if he feels threatened. He will need to be with an experienced foster that can understand/read dog body language and willing to work on his fear issues. Junior is otherwise a wonderful boy and his previous foster describes him as being a sweet boy that loves to play fetch, go on hikes and play with his toys. We think he may be happiest in the home as the only dog but he does well with other dogs as long as there are no shared toys or food. Junior just needs someone who will understand his needs and give him lots of structure and boundaries.

SWEETIE is stuck in boarding!
Chihuahua / Miniature Pinscher mix, 5 yrs, 10 lbs. Sweetie was part of a hoarding case so she was a little shy and insecure at first athough she has warmed up and settled down and is making great progress. She is very obedient and wants to please. She is friendly and affectionate. She loves small dogs but is afraid of larger dogs. She is crate trained. We do not recommend her for a home with young kids because of her skittishness. She may be a door darter so she needs a secure home because she could take off if she gets scared. She is afraid of men and we are working with her to help her feel more comfortable. She would do better as an only dog or at least share her home with a dog closer to her size. She is great on the leash and a good little traveler. She just curls up and goes to sleep in the car.

IMPORTANT FOSTER NOTE
When a dog is just saved from the shelter, or has been in boarding, we have no way of knowing certain things about them such as if they are potty-trained, good with other dogs, cats or children, or if they will experience separation anxiety or barking. While we will always do our best to let you know as much information as we have about a dog, we ask for your patience and understanding as we embark on a dog's journey to find a forever home together!
