Atmospheric change

This week for our run up to Christmas we are looking at Joy. I have been thinking a lot about it lately, Joy that is (although christmas has been in my thoughts too), and how it changes how we see things, how we view the world and the people around us. Joy brings with it a lens that colours everything we see, hear, feel, think. It gives even the bleakest days a warm hue.

Wouldn't it be great if every day was like that? If every day we felt Joy at just being alive. Then every day would be brighter, more colourful, warmer.

I was reading a book a short while ago in which a group of people met each day, in a different part of their home city, to pray for it. They felt that by doing this they could change the spiritual atmosphere of the city, to bring peace, joy and love into some of the darkest places of the city. This got me thinking about the Earth and it's Eco-system and how perhaps there is also a spiritual Eco-system that we can actually affect.

What an incredible thought! People praying in different cities, in different countries but all praying for the same things. All praying in the knowledge that they can change the overall spiritual atmosphere for the better, not just in their own towns, their own cities, or even just their own countries but all over the world.

The thought that we could spread peace, truly share God's love for us with everyone on this planet at a spiritual level and bring a whole new level of joy into the world, might seem like "pie in the sky", but if we don't believe big we end up becoming small.

After all, who are we to put limits on God?

Have a truly blessed and joyful week.

Andrew
