EcoViva’s 20 Year Anniversary Celebration
For two decades EcoViva has worked alongside its partners to improve quality of life for rural communities and protect critical coastal ecosystems in Central America. There will be a preview of a short film by Avi Lewis about our colleagues and the social movement they have built in El Salvador, as well as messages of solidarity from our partners. Join us for drinks at the open bar, delicious Salvadoran food from Platanos Restaurant, and lively music provided by DJ Sandina. No se lo pierda!

4th Annual Tianguis/Anti-Mall Holiday Craft Fair

Come find the perfect gifts you’re looking for this holiday season from local vendors! Plus, enjoy live traditional Mexican music (son jarocho), food (churros, tamales, Chilean empanadas), door prizes and much more! A tianguis is an open-air market or bazaar that is traditionally held on certain market days in a town or city neighborhood in Mexico and Central America. This bazaar tradition has its roots well into the pre-Hispanic period and continues in many cases essentially unchanged into the present day.

Bay Area Bomba y Plena Workshop Presents: ¡Que Bailen los Niños! With Presentations by the Youth Bomba y Plena Workshop AND the Adult Bomba y Plena Workshop AND a celebration Batey or Jam in the evening! Come and support our community students who give their heart and talent to help grow and spread the musical traditions of Bomba and Plena.This event is a fundraiser for the Youth Bomba y Plena Workshop and the children’s upcoming educational trip to Puerto Rico in January to study Plena and Bomba with maestr@s from the island!
