From International to Eternal...
By Elizabeth Allan
We received a cheerful letter this week from Joan Lasche, our ISI Representative. ISI (International Students Institute) allows us to minister to young adults from all over the world by assisting them in their transition as students at UNM.
This year, 245 students were picked up from the airport, while 225 were provided with temporary homes as they looked for a place to live. 1,480 lunches were served and 8 home groups were started. And the Lord has used our body to minister in eternal ways-- 70 of these students are now in a Bible study, and 2 were baptized this year!
Thank you for your faithfulness! We never know what might come from something as simple as taking the time to give a ride, to make a meal, or when we spend time with someone. It is a great God who takes these acts that are done in His name to bring Himself glory and to bear eternal fruit for the kingdom.
Do you know more of how God has worked in these ways? Have you been changed by some of these interactions? Would you be willing to contact us and let us know? You can email us at mccn14@gmail.com.
Please remember to keep Joan in your prayers!
(The full letter is downstairs on the Information Board if you are interested in reading it.)
