December has been declared a Global Month of Action in solidarity with the thousands of Native Americans and allies protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline at the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation in North Dakota.
On Sunday December 11th, please join us for a solidarity march and rally at UUCSC (the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of South County), 27 North Rd, Peace Dale, at 12:45 pm. At 1:00, we will march to the Bank of America at Dale Carlia Corner, 4 Old Tower Hill Rd., Wakefield, and rally there from 1:30-2:30 to protest its financing of the Dakota Access Pipeline.
In light of the Obama Administration’s recent decision to deny the final permit, this will be partly to celebrate this victory for the Water Protectors and partly to push for permanent protection of Standing Rock and divestment from fossil fuels. All are welcome.
