The Jordan River
These Israeli soldiers are guarding the traditional baptism site at the Jordan River. I went down to the river with a group of caregivers and their Pastor from India on a Shabbat recently. One new Christian was going to be baptized. That morning when I awoke I thought how wonderful it must be to be baptized in the place where Jesus was likely baptized.
I have had the wonderful experience of baptizing others in the Jordan but had never been baptized there myself. I have not been feeling well due to an injury that seems to be taking a long time to heal and was in need of some healing water. The Pastor from India agreed to re-dedicate me in the waters of baptism that day. It was a tremendous experience!
The night before the baptism I had the opportunity to minister to the group and was invited to come to India sometime in the future to minister in the churches. I hope this will be one of the nations I will visit in 2017.

One guest at the School of Worship house where I live, handed me a book he had written just before he left Jerusalem. The book is titled "With a Voice Like Many Waters" written by David Baker. Throughout the book David points out scripture that speaks of water and listening to God. In Ezekiel 47, Ezekiel's guide takes him to the riverbank.
Ezekiel 47:9 "And it shall be that every living thing that moves, wherever the river goes, will live. There will be a very great multitude of fish for these waters go there (to the sea), for they will be healed and everything will live wherever the river goes."
The river in the New Jerusalem will bring life, even to the Dead Sea!
As David Baker comments in his book, "Now that is healing -- resurrection healing."
