The domination of Chrome
There are reasons why Google Chrome owns 57% of the web browser market. It’s available on every computer platform, relatively fast, incorporates a number of security features and has a huge library of software extensions. As with any software, there are things to complain about (memory/battery usage, feature bloat) but Google’s six week update cycle usually fixes those problems, eventually.
As promised, here’s a bit of browser humor.
And a tip...
Have you ever needed to jot down a quick note but the only program you have open is the browser? Most people don't know that instead of launching Notepad or some other text editor, it's possible to open a new browser tab and type directly on the page. If you’re running Chrome it’s easy, just paste the following into the address bar:
data:text/html,<html contenteditable>
Et voilà, you can type, copy and paste from the resulting page. I have a shortcut to this link on my Bookmarks Bar called “Notepad” so that it can be opened quickly and easily (note: there's no http://).
That’s all for now; gotta run. Until next week...
