Merry Christmas!

Wow, 2016 has come and gone! December is here and that means Christmas and new beginnings for some of us. I hope that 2016 has brought good health, happiness and joy to all. It has been a real pleasure to be able to help, educate and guide you all on the path to a healthy, pain free, wellness lifestyle.

As usual, I write this as I reflect on the year and what has been achieved. We are going electronic this year with our Christmas letter and card and trying to become a more paperless environment.

Here at Neurohealth, we have endured another year of changes as you might have seen. From the front desk to new practitioners and of course some of the same staff.

Starting with the front, we said farewell to Alison earlier this year but that gave us the opportunity to find Carly, with her magical smile to run the front of office. She and Nioka have complimented each other well, and have been working hard on keeping everyone on track with their treatment plans and informed on everything chiropractic through social media. If you are on Facebook and haven't like us yet, click this link which will take you through to our Facebook page. Feel free to give us a “like”!

Next, we have had the great pleasure of adding massage therapist Jessica Dumay to the team on Thursday evenings and Tuesday evenings in the new year. That will give you all the convenience of a massage therapist here three evenings a week and Saturday mornings. Jess comes with a wealth of experience and has worked with a range of clientele from your regular stay-at-home-mum to professional athletes and sporting teams such as the NSW State of Origin team. She is also a personal trainer which with the combined knowledge of Remedial Massage and Personal Training, Jess has a solid understanding on how people use (or misuse) their bodies.

Our resident massage therapist Steve Marcic has continued with us. Many of you have been quite grateful as he has helped you relax and melt away the stresses and knots in those muscles with his myofascial releases.

Braeden has proved to be the perfect Canuck in the clinic. With his Canadian accent and wealth of sports knowledge and training. Even whilst he lives in Australia, he is still able to be at home here and finding activities close to his heart like competing in the local ice hockey tournament. He just completed his first powerlifting contest where he had respectable lifts of 185kg in squats, 230kg in deadlifts, and 130kg in bench press. He finished 5th in the contest.

Myself, I have been kept busy with teaching for my 10th year at Macquarie University in the Chiropractic department, the clinic and my (slightly) large family. The years have flown since I took over Neurohealth back in 2011! Those that knew me back then will realize that Maylea, who was born that year is starting school next year. She is getting big and growing up fast. Leilani is 11 and loves her basketball (not too sure where that influence comes from…). Isaac is 8 and is almost as tall as Leilani. He too likes basketball. Ryker is in the midst of being 2 and being terrible at it. He loves his tantrums at the moment but he is very cute in between them. He is trying to assert his place in the family of four kids.

As some of you may know, I am not going to be here for Christmas as we are visiting Anne’s family in Germany. This will be my first Christmas that I will have not worked in 11 years. My last day in the clinic will be the 21st December, returning to work on the 18th January. So, I am going to enjoy building snowmen with the kids and relaxing at the in-laws.

As always, Neurohealth will remain open through the holiday season with Braeden, Steve Marcic, Jess, Carly and Nioka keen to keep everyone moving and functioning at their peak even with the silly season upon us. Check our answer machine or Facebook page for opening hours over this time

Remember our COMBO specials which is a great way to finish the year. With a massage and chiro special saving $15 when they are booked in together. We also offer gift cards for massages if you are looking for that special present for a friend or loved one..

Lastly, I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and all the best in health and wealth in the upcoming New Year.

Yours in health,

Steve and the Neurohealth team
