Selecting the best guitars worldwide to bring superb tone and pleasure”

GOL Player Newsletter

What a year 2016 has been! The Sydney Summer School, Adelaide International Guitar Festival, the Melbourne Ensemble event, the Australian Guitar Foundation competition, plus a host of guitar concerts and teacher studio events...GuitarsOnline has been proud sponsor and exhibitor at all of these events. Thank you to everyone who joined stopped by for a ‘play’ at GuitarsOnline, tried out the new guitars at these events and gave us your feedback.

Your comments and responses to the models continue to help us to refine and select the best guitars for our range. We have build the 2016/17 guitar line from entry level, to mid range to concert double tops, lattice and traditional both imported and Australian. It’s been a fulfilling year.

Give the gift of Music

With Christmas coming up very soon, thoughts turn to gifts and presents. Give yourself or a loved one a great present - a new guitar the perfect Christmas present that keeps on giving those sweet tunes ... but which one?

To help you make the right choice, here are some considerations when evaluating guitars
  1. Technical set up and ease of playing – Overcoming hand problems- smaller sizes/short scales, lower set ups.
  2. Developing chromatic colour and musicality
  3. Improving power projection, obtaining string separation
GuitarsOnline offers endless possibilities. We are fully stocked have just received our latest shipment. Give us a call 0410 708 338 and we can help you work through the considerations  and options. Play through our extensive range selected to get the most out of your practice and playing.

Here are some ideas
  • If you want a good, easy to play entry level guitar, try the Alhambra Z or 1C.
  • If you want to bring the house down or busk and electro-acoustic, try the Z Cutaway.
  • For ease of playing - a Senorita guitar anyone?
  • For luxurious harmonics at a midrange price, select an Alhambra 5P
  • If you want the best, select an Angel Benito Aguado Marizapalos.  I’ve been playing since it arrived for two weeks solid and I’d love to keep it! (Sadly the wife has other ideas).
  • If you want power and presence at a reasonable investment - Alhambra 50th Anniversary
  • or if again you want to go all the way to the concert models, a Paulino Bernabe or a Margarit and Mengual Ziricote.
  • The ultimate of course is the Manuel Adalid Cathedral - double top presence, ease of playing, projection, harmonics. It puts you on the concert stage.
We produced some video recordings of several of the guitar models during Melbourne Guitar Foundation weekend in September. View the latest models playlist on Youtube and for even more videos, visit our GuitarsOnline Youtube Channel.

Duo Amythis, CD launch

The Duo Amythis is made up of guitarists Véronique van Duurling (Belgium) and Harold Gretton (Australia). Formed in December 2008, the duo performed its first concert in Canberra in January 2009.

Both guitarists enjoy the contrast of their very different musical backgrounds. They find that the contradictions between their approaches bring additional depth, playfulness, and interest to the music they interpret together as a duo. They play a program of works of many genres and time periods, and delight in sharing their interpretations with a wide range of audiences.
