We were glad to have Alli Trask visit our club. She just moved to Asheville and is the new executive director of the Red Cross. She was a Kiwanian in Rome, Georgia.

Thanks to all the volunteers who rang the bells for Salvation Army. The KMart kettle raised $263.36. The Sam's Kettle brought in $632.28. The Enka Key Club raised $452.14 at their kettle. The kettle will be at our club next week for any donations from club members.

Christmas Shopping Spree with Kids
Thursday, December 15th
Meet at 6:00 for dinner at J&S at River Ridge, then we'll go to Wal Mart to shop with the kids. Invite potential members to come with you to participate in this great service project to help needy children in our community!

We will be delivering flowers to nursing homes on Friday, December 16th between 12-4. If you have a truck, and can help, let Jensen know.
|

Sleep Tight Kids will be giving out pajamas and stuffed animals to about 200 kids at Eliada Home on Tuesday December 13th. If you would like to help with this wonderful project, go to the main building with the gym at Eliada Home from 9:30 to about 11:30.

Our speaker was Mandy Kaithcox from Steadfast House.
- Steadfast House provides women a fresh start and a place to heal surrounded and supported by Christian love, trust, education and companionship.
- Their mission is to provide stability to homeless women and moms with children; provide personal skill building for women; provide education and training that equip women for employment and sustainable housing; provide reintegration skills and opportunities that lead to greater self-determination.

Robin Board, principal at Koontz Intermediate, along with Oliver and Lydia, told us how The Leader In Me has impacted their school. The students are learning 21st century leadership and life skills. A culture of student empowerment is created with all students having a leadership role in the school. Koontz will be using the money we gave them to provide leadership notebooks for each student to help them keep track of, and achieve their goals.
