Good afternoon,
Have you got your hands on the new mag yet? It's touching down all over Australia as we speak!
As a kid I was obsessed with any book that came in a series.
I read Laura Ingalls Wilder, The Babysitters Club, all the Noel Strathfield books and as I got older I moved onto the Tomorrow When The War Began stories.
I just loved diving into something new but beautifully familiar. Christmas day was spent devouring whatever new book had landed under the tree for me, I would binge read and finish them all in one day, much like how I consume Netflix shows now.
If I was a kid today I would have been obsessed with the Alice-Miranda books (have you heard of them?), which is why I'm so excited to tell you guys about the amazing kids' competition we are running right now.
But first, let me quickly fill you in on what we have on offer to our adult readers this week...
Geelong mother, Traci Ellmer, talks about the role the NDIS plays in the life of her daughter, Madison Rose, 11 in Not On Our Own.
Peggy Sass reflects on how she decided to make a huge change in Stay At Home Mum Envy.
And Cherise Pagano shows us a perfect Christmas Lollipop recipe.
Now, back to our competition. If you have an Alice-Miranda fan in the house, 12 or under, who is handy with a pen, they could win themselves a chance to be featured as a character in author Jacqueline Harvey's next Alice-Miranda book. Amazing, right? Head here for all the details.
Also, these school holidays there are Alice-Miranda garden parties happening all over Australia where fans can act in a ‘readers’ theatre’ with Jacqueline Harvey herself, eat cake, make flower crowns, dress up and have a blast. The parties are free, but you must register here.
Ok, that was a long one, congratulations for getting to the end!
Happy Thursday!
