Estimada familia SEK.
El “Summer Fun” continúa y todos los niños siguen disfrutando de las actividades y fiestas que el colegio ofrece para su bienestar, permitiendo que aprendizaje y descanso se mantengan unidos por un corto periodo de tiempo.
Hoy celebramos la “Premiación del curso 2016” y el viernes la “Graduación de Tercero Media”, donde nos despediremos de los , ahora ya, antiguos alumnos del SEK. Felicidades a todos y no olviden que esta siempre será su casa.
Gracias por su ayuda y espero que la semana sea gratificante.

ADVENTURE SUMMER FUN

This Friday was the first of 3 Summer Fun parties. All the children took part in the Hawaiian themed splash party! There were bouncy castles, giant slides and other fun activities, and this day getting wet was synonymous with having fun! To top it all of everyone took home a beachball as a souvenir of the day!

Despedida del 3° de la Media.
El viernes 18 de noviembre se realizó el tradicional almuerzo de despedida de los alumnos del 3° de Educación Media. Fue una jornada muy emotiva en la cual los estudiantes del 2° año y los profesores de la Media compartieron con los nuevos egresados del colegio SEK.

La semana pasada, en el marco del programa de innovación tecnológica para el año 2017, los profesores de primaria han realizado la capacitación en el área tecnológica a cargo de la profesora Mónica Desmartis quién vino del Colegio SEK de Chile y desarrolló los talleres interactivos e intercambió conceptos de buenas prácticas basados en las experiencias adquiridas por los demás colegios de nuestra institución internacional.

Green Week introduces young people aged 13 and above to a range of enviromental issues in the context of Costa Rica’s extraordinary natural resources. Students visit some of the most exciting wild areas of this amazing country Green Week is based at the SEK INternational Institution’s school and is supported by staff who are bilingual in English and Spanish

SEK Budapest Students Participate in the 2016 Diplomatic Fair
On Sunday 27th of November our 11IB students had the honour to volunteer at the 2016 Diplomatic Fair. The Diplomatic Fair is a remarkable charity event organized by the Diplomatic Spouses of Budapest under the patronage of Mrs. Anita Herczegh, spouse of the President of Hungary.
This year at the fair, 46 nations represented themselves with a wide range of souvenirs and traditional food & beverage selections from all around the globe. This was accompanied by a show that ran throughout the day and mesmerized the visitors with an array of national dances, folklore performances, traditional singing and instrumental pieces, and other cultural delights. I am extremely pleased to say that the event raised more than 7million Hungarian Forints for different local foundations and charities.
I am very proud to say that our 11IB students were an important component of the organization of the event, as they donated their time and efforts alongside other volunteers on the day of the fair making sure that everything ran as it should and helped this event be the roaring success that it was. The students excelled at their use of English, Hungarian, Spanish, and even Chinese language skill while working with the guests during the event. At SEK Budapest we truly believe in the importance of this kind of experiential learning, as it is an extension of the values and skills that we teach our students in the classroom.
Once again, I would like to thank the Diplomatic Spouses of Budapest team for allowing us to collaborate with this great event, as well as the students for making SEK Budapest proud!

Class 4 Assembly
On Thursday 24th November Class 4 presented their assembly to the whole school. The theme for the assembly was Divali. It is one of the best-known Hindu festivals, which takes place in the autumn and this year it was celebrated during early November. Using a prepared script and pictures, the children told the story of Rama and Sita, a story which conveys the message of good overcoming evil. The Year 4 girls presented a wonderful Hindu dance and my thanks goes to Mrs Barani who very kindly supplied the amazing costumes for the dance. Our appreciation also goes to Mrs Lewis who directed the superb choreography for the dance. It was indeed a resounding success and we are very proud of the children and their achievement.

Destacada Participación del Académico Dr. Santiago López en Montevideo
El Dr. Santiago López Navia, titular de la Cátedra de Estudios Humanísticos Felipe Segovia Martínez de la Universidad SEK (Santiago de Chile), ha participado como ponente en las Jornadas “Desde el Quijote: 400 años de cervantismo”, celebradas en Montevideo entre el 15 y el 17 de noviembre y organizadas por la Academia Nacional de Letras, la Cátedra de Literatura Española (Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias de la Educación de la Universidad de la República), el Centro de Documentación y Estudios de Iberoamérica (Universidad de Montevideo) y el Departamento. de Literatura (Consejo de Formación en Educación/Administración Nacional de Educación Pública).
En su ponencia, titulada “Las recreaciones de Cervantes y el Quijote (1609-2016): panorámica de una diversidad de lenguajes, perspectivas y actitudes”, expuesta el 16 de noviembre, el Dr. López Navia planteó una visión sintética y actualizada de las diferentes recreaciones de la principal obra de Cervantes expresadas en diferentes códigos estéticos y formales, centrándose de forma especial en la narrativa hispánica.
Además de su participación en el congreso de Montevideo, y en su condición de cervantista, el Dr. López Navia ha representado a la Universidad SEK en numerosas actividades académicas celebradas en Francia, España, Bulgaria y Chile a lo largo de los dos últimos años, en los que se ha conmemorado el cuarto centenario de la publicación de la segunda parte del Quijote y de la muerte de Cervantes.
