Happy First Birthday!!
It is hard to believe that our little Miss Ansley celebrated her first birthday already. Todd and I drove to South Carolina to participate in the special occasion and Laura and Eric did a wonderful job planning and decorating for the party. We timed her morning nap so that she would be well rested for the occasion but after playing, being held by everyone and helping to open her presents she fell apart when there cake was put in front of her. It was just a little too much excitement for her but she eventually calmed down and carefully picked the icing off of her cake. Too adorable!

Creative Corner
When we first moved to Tennessee last year I found a wonderful art group that meets each Monday in a cute, old fashioned church on the lake. The group is full of creative women who knit, crochet, make pottery, stained glass, watercolor, hook rugs and paint.
Last week I took my hot plate, wax and watercolors with me so that I could teach everyone how to watercolor batik. We worked on small pieces so that everyone could get familiar with the process and it was so much fun to see how much everyone enjoyed it.

'Tis The Season
I have to admit that I don't really paint too many holiday themed watercolors but I couldn't resist a red bird and some holly. Because red and green are complementary colors you can't really go wrong with any subject using that combination.

Creative Monday Challenge
At the beginning of this year I started a new Facebook Group where I posted a Creative Challenge each Monday and group members could participate by sharing their art and providing support in a positive and encouraging environment. 91 artists have joined and it has been so much fun to see all of the wonderfull art work and the creative connections that have been made.

In My Etsy Shop!
I have taken a few of my 8x10 original watercolors and mounted them on gallery wrapped canvases so that they can be displayed without a frame. I also collaged blue tissue to the canvas to provide a nice color contrast to the snow. The painting can be hung on a wall, propped on a shelf or displayed on an easle as shown.
