Celebrating IRC CommunicationS |
Being creative in getting our messages across |
|
We are all communicators. We talk, twitter, email, phone, sms, what’s app etc. with family, friends, colleagues, customers, strangers and many others. Most of us are able to put our message across in some way or another, successfully and sometimes unsuccessfully.
Communication in the water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) sector is something else. We have to communicate, advocate, educate, convince, promote, challenge, change and celebrate so many different messages. We address government leaders, ministers, politicians, journalists, technicians, users and stakeholders to name a few. We have to take into account different cultures, taboos, systems and old habits. And we have competition. Therefore we need to be very creative in getting our messages across at IRC.
This issue of E-Source showcases some of our achievements from Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Uganda and The Netherlands together with the stories of how they came about. Enjoy these communications!
