Making cookies this Christmas season? Please make an extra batch (or two!) of cookies and bring them on a disposable plate to church on Christmas Eve. The cookies will be brought to Jackson Park Hospital by Rev. Erma Croom after the Christmas Eve service as treats for staff working that evening. If you'd like to drop off cookies earlier in the week, please make arrangements with the church office by email (office@hpuc.org) or phone (773.363.6063).
Share the Warmth
During the month of December, please bring gently used or new coats, hats, scarves, mittens/gloves, and other winter clothing items to the church office. Items will be donated to patients at Jackson Park Hospital.

11:30 a.m. - Chili-making Chili cooking during fellowship hour: join members of the congregation in the kitchen after the service to help cook chili to be served to the hungry at the Soup Kitchen at Kenwood UCC this week.
11:30 a.m. - Second Hour & Letter Writing Extreme weather events (heat, cold, and flooding) are becoming more frequent and more extreme, affecting the poorest communities in the US and around the globe.This Sunday, join us in the Social Hall to write to our Illinois congressional delegation and senators and ask them to ensure we continue to make progress and don't roll back progress that's been made in fighting climate change. Also, Don Lamb, Robert A. Millikan Distinguished Service Professor of Astronomy & Astrophysics at the University of Chicago and advisor to government, speaks during the Second Hour about climate change and what we can do.
Poinsettia Orders
Poinsettias have traditionally adorned the chancel for Christmas Eve and Christmas Services. If you would like to order poinsettias in honor or in memory of someone, please contact the church office by phone or email and provide the following information: *your name(s)
*number of poinsettias ordering
*your dedication as you would like it printed in the bulletin
Order forms will also be inserted in the worship bulletins on December 4 and December 11. Please place completed forms in the offering plate.
Poinsettias are $15 each.
Orders are due by 12 p.m. on Thursday, December 15.
