In 16th of December 2016 Euphrates Shield Opposition Forces and Turkish Army announced the beginning of (Al Bab City Battle), In order to capture the city from ISIS, the attack started from the west side of the City , Mainly focused on Al Bab Soils and the National Hospital, Euphrates Shield managed to capture the Soils and National Hospital on the 17th December early morning, but had to retreat from the Hospital after a huge counter attack by ISIS using 3 (VBIED).
