What's new at the IEDP?
Remember to renew
Don't forget that your IEDP membership fee is due on 1 January 2017. You will be glad to hear that we are keeping the cost of membership the same again for next year. Our individual associate membership is £110+VAT, with a reduced rate of £55+VAT for students, retired and volunteers. Don't forget there is also our team membership which is excellent value at just £550+VAT for a team of 6 to 30 people working for the same organisation. Full details of membership fees and benefits are on our website here.

IEDP accreditation dates
If you join the IEDP, or are already a member, you can apply for our accreditation programme. The closing date for expressions of interest for the next round of IEDP accreditation is 27 January 2017. Your application would need to be confirmed (and the fee paid) by 17 February and the deadline for the submission of your portfolio would be 31 March. Other news
Vote for your favourite rainbow cake
'Educate and Celebrate' ran a rainbow cake decorating competition (Edu-cake and Cel-a-bake!) for schools to mark anti-bullying week. If you are on Facebook you might like to vote for your favourite. The winner will be announced in February to co-incide with LGBT History Month. Click on the photo to go to the facebook page and see all the colourful cakes.

Robin Richardson's end of 2016 meditation

If you arein a reflective mood at the end of this tumultous year, you may be interested in Robin Richardson's meditation on British values, Brexit and Trump – the states we’re now in. Robin presented his poem and set of images recently at the annual conference of the Consortium of Development Education Centres (CoDec) in Birmingham. David Isaac's end-of-year reflections
The Chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission, David Isaac, has also released his reflections on the events of 2016, particularly Brexit.
