What a year it has been for National Park Trust! Got 60 seconds? Watch this video which highlights what we've accomplished together against the backdrop of the historic 100th anniversary of the National Park Service(NPS).
Great news! Just last week, we completed the acquisition of land within the boundaries of Rocky Mountain National Park that allows NPS to add nearly 33 acres of wilderness in the Wild Basin area, thanks to a wonderful gift from The Barrett Family Foundation andin partnership with The Wilderness Land Trust and Rocky Mountain Conservancy.
In addition, this year we were so honored to be:
Recognized by the Outdoors Alliance for Kids (OAK) with an inaugural OAK Leaf Award
Since 2009, we have grown from 6 Buddy Bison schools to 60 – located all across the nation! More than 80% of our students qualify for free or reduced-priced lunch. With your continued support, in honor of the 100th anniversary of NPS, we hope to grow to and sustain 100 schools!
More great news! We are delighted to share that philanthropist Hansjörg Wyss has made an extraordinary personal pledge to match every dollar that we raise up to $200,000 for our youth programs! This holiday season, consider making a gift in honor of family and friends knowing that your gift will have double the impact thanks to Mr. Wyss' pledge!
As the NPS Centennial celebration and year draws to a close and we set our sights on the next 100 years, we thank you for supporting our mission and programs. We look forward to working together in 2017 to preserve and protect our nation's cherished parks and connect our youth to these iconic places.
