We held the first of our schools workshops in November, and were very happy to welcome Oxon School to the Flaxmill Maltings to learn about machinery, drive shafts and pulleys and the way they would have been used at the Mill. 
 

A group is given a tour of the Mill - seen here looking at the apprentice house. 

After hearing a short lecture about the machinery the class retires to the Flaxivity Youth Centre to put theory into practice. 

We offer two workshops, which are entitled 'Mill Apprentice Experience' (KS1/2) and LEGO Education, Simple Machines - Pulley Power' (KS2)

We have produced a video showing some of the fun and games from our extremely popular open event back in May. Just over a thousand people came to the site to enjoy skateboarding, circus skills, drumming and synth workshops, a travelling zoo complete with Meerkats, storytelling, yarn bombing, a pixel art workshop, a canal barge, police car and fire engine, and much, much more.
