2016 is coming to a close and what a year it's been! We were named Brewbound's 2016 Cause of the Year. We took home multiple awards across all our rides. Most importantly, we raised $630,899 to help people living with Multiple Sclerosis - over $140K more than in 2015. And since we started this crazy thought to fuel teams back in 2008, we've raised $2,133,780 - simply unbelievable!! We couldn't have done it without help from each of you and we are incredibly grateful for and humbled by your commitment to Team Left Hand and our mission to #crushMS.
Big surprise, we're at it again for 2017 - our goal is 550 riders in multiple states raising $700,000! We are planning on the same states we fielded teams in this year (Colorado, Ohio, Florida, Texas and the Carolinas) and new this year is California - a one-day ride in LA at the end of March. Big goals for sure, but we know we'll meet them with your continued support!!

We need your help! Please!! We're already well into planning 2017, which means we're looking for jersey sponsors for all 6 teams!
For as little as $500, sponsors get their logo on our team jersey (worn by 50-200 cyclists depending on the team) and on the banner displayed in our team tent plus social media mentions and more.
Remember, ALL proceeds from our jersey sponsorships go toward YOUR fundraising total - we split the sponsorship $$$ from each team jersey with that team's members.

Our new 2017 team is off and running! Our captain, Mike Rokaw, is hosting training rides when the weather cooperates, we've got some corporate sponsors trickling in and we're up to nearly 30 riders already!
Our team registration closes 1/11/17 (no exceptions), so the time to sign up is NOW! It's an easy two-step process:
- First, sign up on teamlefthand.com. Once you've paid for your jersey ($65) you'll receive an email receipt with a team password - check your junk mail if you don't see it!
- Second, sign up for the Bike MS Coastal Challenge. Use the password to join Team Left Hand then let the fundraising begin!
- Have sign up questions or issues? Email Sara for help!
And please remember we're still looking for jersey sponsors - A company logo on our jersey starts at $500 or an equivalent in-kind donation (think masseuses, loaner couches & food for our Team Tent). Shout out to the Home Team for CRUSHING IT this year! Our riders and amazing volunteers raised nearly $350,000 in 2016 – more than we’ve ever raised before! Thanks to everyone for being involved and getting us one step closer to ending MS.

Our second year of Team Left Hand/Century Cycles was incredible! We were both the largest team AND the number 1 fundraising team with a total of $48,905 raised - amazing! What can we say? We couldn't have asked for a better rookie season in Texas! We took home the Champions Cup and won Rookie Team of the year, but our greatest accomplishment by far was raising over $90,000 to #crushMS!
Big thanks to all of you who came out to our end of the year party at The Flying Saucer, and bigger thanks to all of you who responded to our post-ride survey - your feedback has been heard and will help us make 2017 even better!

Our first out-of-state team had a tough but fruitful 2016. Despite the ride being cancelled due to Hurricane Matthew we still raised over $38,000 and came in as the second largest fundraising team! We also built up our team, with big thanks to Captn' Ron in Charlotte and Captn' Josh in Greenville, SC, and got countless training miles in across two states.

Our largest out-of-state team has done it again! We had an INCREDIBLE year, with the highlight being our award for Number 1 Corporate Fundraising Team with over $108,000 raised to #crushMS! Thanks to everyone who helped make this year a huge success despite the curveballs thrown at us in the form of a Hurricane.

Significant research breakthroughs occurred in 2016 as a result of the National MS Society’s bold leadership and investments, offering new leads toward their vision of a world free of MS. Over the course of the year, the Society invested over $42 million in 380 new and ongoing research projects, fellowships and initiatives around the world, and committed to further advance treatments for progressive MS with three new large-scale Collaborative Network Awards, launched by the International Progressive MS Alliance.
Large-scale clinical trials recently broke through a long-standing barrier, demonstrating, for the first time, an ability to slow the course of progressive MS.
