As I reflect on this past year there is so much for us to be thankful for at The First Tee of New Hampshire. What our organization has achieved is a testament to the way in which those I work with on our board of directors, advisory council, our most dedicated staff, volunteers and coaching staff in all of our Program Locations. By any measure we have had a successful year setting the stage for an even stronger 2017. Of notable mention…
- Our first participant to qualify for the Nature Valley The First Tee Open – congratulations Lauren Thibodeau
- Growth in the number of life skills program participants served this year of over 25%
- Two new Program Locations – Claremont’s Dody’s Kids and The Shattuck Golf Club in Jaffrey
- Four new board members – Welcome to Buddy Webb, Jared Lemos, Rajan Vora and Geoff Martin. We’ll highlight each of these board members in our January newsletter
- New Advisory Council members this year – Welcome Barbara Franzoso and Worth Parker
- The addition of Leslie Heindl to our staff who brings a wealth of experience with not-for-profit organizations, business, development and golf with her. Jyoti Vora also joined our staff to help us with our website and social media.
- We welcomed many new donors and partners this year and regardless of their level of giving are critical to us continuing to achieve our goals
After two terms on our board of directors Elizabeth Sanborn will be leaving us to enjoy her recent retirement from Amadeus. Elizabeth has been a staunch supporter of The First Tee of New Hampshire and our mission going above and beyond when the need arises. I’ve sought her counsel and know that I am a better person and board chair as a result. Elizabeth has assured us that while she will no longer be a member of our board she will remain a member of our First Tee family helping us where called upon to continue our mission. Thank you Elizabeth !

Shivani Vora awarded at NHGA Annual Meeting
Shivani Vora participated in the Adaptive Communications program of New Hampshire Golf Association. She was presented with an award in the Girls Birdie division at the NHGA Annual meeting held at Manchester Country Club on October 20 2016.
Shivani Vora – "Shivani once again proved that she is the top Birdie Girls player by being the only Adaptive Communications Junior Player of the Year to go undefeated in each event she participated in. Shivani, who gets her practice by playing out of Portsmouth Country Club, concluded the Junior Tour by shooting 38 at Keene Country Club to win her division at the Junior Invitational. This is the second straight year that she has won the Birdie Girls Player of the Year award.”– 2016 Adaptive Communications Junior Tour

Impact in Numbers
We are very excited to let everyone know that 2016 represents another year of substantial growth for our chapter, impacting thousands of young people in the state of New Hampshire through the game of golf! Within our 10 program locations, we had over 750 participants enroll in our certifying programs, each being introduced to our Core Values, Healthy Habits, and Life Skills. Through an additional 40 schools (National School Program), 10 youth serving organizations (DRIVE Program), and numerous outreach events, we were able to put a club in the hand of another 10,000 young people. Thank you to all of our Staff, Board, Supporters and dedicated leaders at each of our Program Locations for bringing The First Tee to your community and helping to fulfill our mission. With some new initiatives and additional growth plans, things are looking way up for the future of the game and our youth in 2017!
