Season's Greetings Blue Nation!

I am fortunate to be sending this winter update to more than 2,000 friends and supporters of Friends of Wellesley Athletics. Your impact on our student-athletes is tangible and as a result of your support and our student-athlete's focus and hard work, we're on our way to another landmark year.

Currently, Wellesley athletics is sitting in third place in the NEWMAC President's Cup standings. The Presidents Cup is an all-sports award presented to the top overall program in the conference and is determined using a weighted points system based on the order of finish during both regular season and championship play. Our Winter and Spring teams are looking to help push the Blue into first by May!

Wellesley College swimming & diving junior Maura Sticco-Ivins (Framingham, Mass.) was featured in NCAA Champion Magazine. A national publication produced by the NCAA, Champion Magazine 'goes behind the headlines and beyond the scoreboards to celebrate the unique connection between Americans and college sports.' 18 Student-Athletes Named to Academic All-Conference Teams

The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced the 2016 NEWMAC Academic All-Conference teams for women's cross country, field hockey, soccer, tennis, and volleyball, and 18 Blue student-athletes have been recognized for their prowess in the classroom. Read more here.

USRowing Honors Tessa Spillane with Ernestine Bayer Award

USRowing has announced the organization's annual convention award recipients and Wellesley College Crew Head Coach and PERA Associate Professor of the Practice Tessa Spillane has been named the recipient of the Ernestine Bayer Award. Read more here.
