Resort Update


Conditions Update - Killington

With the holidays looming just around the corner, The Beast is pulling out all the stops to bring the best possible skiing and riding conditions. Today is the debut of green circle Easy Street on Ramshead and Friday will be the debut of Skyeship Base Lodge and Skyeship Gondola Stage one.

Additional snowmaking targets for the next few days include Timberline, Highline, Outer Limits and Ovation with Vertigo, Northway and Upper Swirl to follow. With favorable temperatures in the forecast through the weekend, we should see trail openings throughout the holiday week.

Those in the mood for hot laps in the park will find 20+ features in Mouse Run Park, all conveniently accessible from the Snowdon Poma. Timberline terrain park is expected to open sometime early during the holiday week.

Key lifts will open at 8:00 a.m. daily for the holiday week 12/24/16-1/1/17. All lifts close by 4:00 p.m.

Conditions Update - Pico

The snowmaking team has been hard at work on Lower Pike and Swinger while B Slope, Easy Street, Mid-Pike and Upper/Middle KA are next on the snowmaking plan. We’re expecting these additional trails to open throughout the holiday week.

Pico Mountain is open every day (including Tuesday & Wednesday) 12/24-1/1/17 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Killington Tubing Park, Beast Coaster, Skyeride and More
The Killington Tubing Park is scheduled to open for the season on Friday 12/23 and will operate daily through 1/1/17. Hours for 12/24 are 4 -7 p.m.; 12/25-12/31 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; 1/1/17 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Please check the website for general in-season hours of operation. Also, the Clubhouse Grill is open when the Tubing Park is open.

The Beast Coaster and Skyeride at Snowshed Lodge are scheduled to open for the season on Saturday 12/24 and will operate 1-4:30 p.m. daily through 1/1/17. After the holiday they will operate 1-4:30 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and Peak Days.

Sleigh Rides and Scenic Gondola Rides are also available daily during the holiday week with Fat Tire Bike Rentals and Snowshoe Tours scheduled to be open, conditions permitting.


Holiday 101 & Activities Calendar
Check out our Holiday 101 blog (also available as a printed piece) and our holiday activities calendar for more information on what’s happening this coming week. These are great resources to print and have available to visitors. Highlights of the week include the V.I.N.S. Raptor Encounter (Monday), Family Trivia (Tuesday), Matchstick Productions Movie Premier (Wednesday) and an Ice Cream Social (Thursday).

Killington Rentals Available at Killington Sports Route 4
Killington rentals is now operating out of Killington Sports Route 4 and is open Friday-Sunday, non-holiday weeks. This is a great place to send guests who have pre-purchased rentals to avoid the morning rush in the rental shops. For the holiday week ahead, this location will be open Friday 12/23 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m.; Saturday 12/24 7:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; Sunday 12/25 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m; Monday-Saturday 12/26-12/30 7:30 a.m.-7:00 p.m.

Snow Sports School
Our Snow Sports School is booking up fast, guests interested in lessons should be directed to make reservations via our call center at 800-923-9444. We also have a youth Race Camp featuring local Olympian Chelsea Marshall taking place 12/29-30/16

Jerk Jamaican Mountain Grill
Take some time this upcoming week to check out our newest food and beverage offering, Jerk Jamaican Mountain Grill, located at the Skyeship Gondola mid-station. This location features both grab-and-go and eat-in items all offering a distinct island flavor, plus draft beer, wine and specialty cocktails. If you don’t make it out this week, no worries - we’ll be serving up food and drinks daily through the season.

Occupancy Levels
In an effort to help you all plan out your week here is a snap shot of what our lodging occupancy numbers are.  Our occupancy for the Grand Hotel and our managed condo properties was 68% this past weekend for comparison purposes.  This coming weekend including 12/25 is about 48%. Christmas week starts out at 73% increasing to 87%; New Year’s weekend 12/30 and 12/31, 93%.

Killington Mountain Employees receive 25% off food and beverage at Killington Mountain Lodge. Show your employee ID card to receive the local discount.

Our bar opens daily at 4:30 pm for drink and apres-ski specials. Stay for a locally inspired dinner from Star Chef Hilary Adams.

The Net Promoter Score is calculated based on responses to a single question: How likely is it that you would recommend Killington to a friend or colleague?  The scoring for this answer if based on a 0 - 10 numerical scale.

  • Current NPS: 81
  • 16/17 Goal: 74

Our current NPS score is an 81 with this year’s goal at a 74.  Please remember during busy holiday weeks is when our NPS score drops the most.  Think of ways you can enhance the guest experience while guests maybe waiting for a table or shopping for a brand new jacket.  People may forget what you said and what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel.

Service reminder: Every time a visitor stays at your hotel, eats at your pub or shops at your store, they develop an impression based on their experiences.
