Mini Challenge: Promote locally with yard signs

Details: Every year around this time I see the same bunch of yard signs pop up on street corners near my house. The signs have a plain white background and bold, red text that says "Piano and Guitar Lessons - Call XXX-XXX-XXXX." They're not fancy, but after seeing the same sign in three different places on the way to the grocery store, you start to take notice! In a few weeks the signs will come down and they'll come out again at the beginning of the summer.
Order several yard signs (or make your own!) and choose where you will plant them in your community. After a few weeks people will become blind to the signs, but they don't have to sit and gather dust! Move the signs to new locations so they'll be exposed to fresh eyes.
Think about the people you are trying to reach and where they hang out. Always ask before placing a sign on private property. Some places you might post signs are:
- outside your house/studio
- entrances to your neighborhood
- nearby schools, community colleges, and libraries
- bus stops
- parks
- recreation centers
- students' homes
- busy street corners where people have to stop their cars
When you get phone calls from prospective students, ask where the caller saw your signs so you can figure out which locations are the most effective and take note of those places!
