'Tis the Season for Giving

More than 500 colorfully wrapped gifts were loaded into a caravan in front of LJCDS on Thursday, December 8 as part of the annual Giving Tree project. For over 17 years, LJCDS has partnered with San Diego County social workers to provide children in need with gifts for the holidays. Community Service Coordinator Hadley Zeavin, the development team, the parents association and numerous volunteers combined efforts to make this another successful year of giving back to our community.

Students Represent Famous Americans

On December 6, our second graders portrayed famous Americans in speech and dress during the Wax Museum presentation. Reciting by memory, students shared who they were, when and where they were born, and an interesting fact about themselves. Famous Americans represented included LeBron James, Michael Phelps, Dr. Seuss, Abraham Lincoln, Amelia Earhart and Susan B. Anthony.
