A year of challenges, a year of successes

As we prepare to bid farewell to 2016, we thought it would be fun to take a quick stroll down Memory Lane with you! It has been another impactful year.

We started off the year with our 44^th Annual MLK Celebration

We welcomed our (wonderful) new executive director, LaVanda Brown

We looked back at the lives we've changed over the years

We took a Stand Against Racism

We celebrated one of our members whose work took her to the White House

A teacher showed us you don’t have to make the front page to make a difference

We celebrated our 109th anniversary!

Women under 40 in our Backpacks to Briefcases group learned how to network successfully

We rallied you and others in the community to get out and vote

We weathered Hurricane Matthew along with you & held a breast cancer talk featuring MUSC doctors

We launched a tech coding club for Charleston’s middle school girls

We announced two nationally acclaimed keynote speakers for our 2017 MLK Celebration
