Waitsfield Elementary School Rocks!

December 22, 2016
Team West pausing from their sled races for a group photo during yesterday's Winter Compass Cup challenge.

Dear Friends and Families,
There is much that I value about our school, not least of which is the strong feeling of community within it. Yesterday, we celebrated the winter compass cup, where students across grades K-6th are divided into four teams, each named for a compass point. These teams engaged in a variety of challenges, from sled racing to a transport challenge, which allowed them to earn points for their teams. Much more important than the points, however, is the fun the students have together and the connections they build with one another.  Watching the older students look after the younger children on their team and everyone playing together only reinforced my feeling that the community that we have is so much of what makes our school wonderful. May you and your families enjoy some of that same quality play time together over the next week. I wish peace and joy to you all, as well as the support of our powerful community.
 Respectfully,      Kaiya Korb

P.S.  See you back at school next year on TUESDAY, JANUARY 3, 2017!
