Ways to Detox

Start 2017 off right and cleanse your body of 2016 by following these simple ways to detox. Number one, when detoxing it is vital to drink plenty of water. It is recommended to drink 11-16 cups of water per day. There are a few ways to help increase your water intake.  One way is to add lemon, your favorite fruit, or cucumber to your water. I like to drink a whole glass of water when I wake up, this water should be room temperature. Another way to increase water intake is to get a special cup that you are excited to use. Tip: fill a 30oz yeti cup 3-5 times to equal 11-16 cups. One way to keep track of how many times you have refilled your water for the day is to add a rubber band to your water bottle or cup each time your refill it. Your next step to Detoxing is sitting in a sauna, steam room, hot tub, or taking a bath.  In the sauna/steam room you can stretch and take deep breaths. A bath is great because you can add epson salts (recommended 2+ cups), magnesium, essential oils, and/or apple cider vinegar (at least 1 cup) to facilitate detoxing. Sweating is another vital part of detoxing. In addition to sweating during exercise, sweating during one of the hydrotherapies will provide therapy for your muscles and help your body detox. Your last step to detoxing 2016 away is to eat healthy or "clean". As you are flushing out toxins you will be most effective if you are not putting them right back in. I like to reset by drinking fresh juice and eating seared salmon and fresh spinach.  One of the best tools to proper eating is to follow Nutrition's My Life on Facebook and/or Instagram.  Nicole has great recipe ideas, educational videos, and she makes you feel like it can be done! These are your core basics to detoxing.  I also recommend following these steps after a massage if your are not already doing them daily: Drink 11-16 cups of water, cardio exercise, sauna/steam room or hot tub/bath, and clean eating. Oh and of course getting a massage is a great way to detox!!!

Juniper Berry

Detox this month with Juniper Berry. Juniper Berry essential oil is steam distilled from the berries.
