Felices Navidades
Con ilusión, pequeños y grandes esperamos las vacaciones de Navidad.
Terminados los nervios de los últimos exámenes semestrales ponemos toda nuestra atención en disfrutar de estos días.
Muchas de nuestras familias viajarán a sus países de origen: el reencuentro, las emociones, los olores y sabores nunca olvidados, el frío que nunca apagará el calor del hogar.
Nuestras familias dominicanas, recibirán a sus hijos, muchos de ellos antiguos alumnos de SEK que están estudiando en las universidades de otros países.
En fin, todos los profesores, personal administrativo y no docente les desean unos felices días y un 2017 en el que se colmen todos sus deseos.

A Letter to Santa
Our Preschool students had a wonderful time with Santa Claus. They wrote letters letting Santa knows what they wish they had for Christmas.
They all made sure, the letters were perfect and colorful and on the last Monday of the year, they received a special surprise: Santa Claus!
They were able to take pictures, gice him their letters and explain Santa what they dream of. It was a unique and special way for them to start their Christmas vacations.

Former Alumni Christmas Dinner
Christmas is the perfect occasion for our Former Alumni to get together, share and remember pleasant moments spent in their school, while celebrating the traditional Christmas dinner.
This wonderful event took place on the premises of the school and was attended by a large number of former students of different graduation years, who showed their joy to be reunited with former colleagues.
A special moment where no matter how old or young, all share a special feeling: being part of the SEK family.

Diez días para Navidad
Cada año, se celebra nuestro tradicional festival de Navidad con la participación de preescolar y primaria, este vez con el título “Diez días para Navidad“.
Durante semanas los alumnos se esforzaron en hacer sus números cada vez mejor. El día del estreno, han dado todo de ellos y nos han brindado un espectáculo casi a nivel de profesionales. Un espectáculo lleno de bailes y cantos, mostrando así, que todos pueden sobresalir en distintas facetas.
La manera perfecta de dar la bienvenida a las vacaciones de Navidad.

Reaction of Soap and Milk
On our last visit to the Science Lab, we had a wonderful time experimenting with new things. This time, we learned what happens when we mix together milk, soap and some food coloring.
For the experiment, we began by pouring milk into a plate, then we added a few drops of coloring food and we let the magic happen, by adding one drop of liquid soap.
Milk is made of mostly water but also vitamins, minerals, proteins and small fat. The fat in milk is sensitive, so when we add soap, they work hard to join and this reaction causes some cool movement between them. It was a great class and we love to learn new scientific things!

Pre-K celebrates Loi Krathong!
Pre-K had a visit from a student's mom who came to teach us about a special celebration in Thailand called the Loi Krathong Festival. We learned that "loi" means floating and "krathong" means decorated basket. We were able to decorate our very own krathongs (decorated basket) using flowers and candles. We also learned a Thai dance called "Ramwong"!

Toy Collection & Donation
As 11th grade IB students, as part of CAS, we have been working with an organization by the name of Piros Doboz. Each year they collect toys in order to give to those children who are in need and would otherwise not receive presents during this special and festive season of the year.
Our purpose for the SEK Budapest Toy Collection & Donation Project is to bring joy to as many children as possible. The project lasted from Monday to Wednesday of this week and we managed to collects an astonishing amount of beautiful toys and games in new and used good condition.
I speak in the name of my classmates and school administration when I say that I am proud and extremely thankful that our strong SEK Community came together for this cause.
Community service, is not about you helping someone in order to get something back, it is about the willingness to collaborate, to help, to share joy, and to improve your community.
During my time at SEK I have learned that solidarity, responsibility and compassion are essential to humanity.
Once again thank you to all the SEK families for participating!

CEREMONIA DE TITULACIÓN
Los días 22, 23 y 24 de Noviembre del presente año, se realizó en el Parque Arrieta, Monumento Histórico Nacional, ubicado en la comuna de Peñalolen, la ceremonia de titulación de 517 nuevos profesionales de la Universidad SEK, quienes se vienen a sumar a los 3562 titulados.
En la ceremonia presidida por el Presidente de la Junta Directiva de la Universidad SEK, Don Luis Martinez Zorzo, fueron galardonados los mejores egresados de cada carrera y fue destacado el compromiso de los estudiantes, académicos y administrativos que han permitido el desarrollo del proyecto educativo de la Universidad.
Asimismo, el Rector de la Universidad SEK Chile, Doctor Carlos Pereira Albornos, hizo especial hincapié en que la titulación es sólo el comienzo de un proceso laboral en que la universidad estará siempre disponible para continuar aportando en la formación de los nuevos profesionales, mediante su variada oferta de programas de formación en Educación Continua y programas de post Grado.
La solemne ceremonia se vio engalanada además por la presencia del grupo musical Die Musik, quienes interpretaron el himno de la universidad y el himno universitario Gaudeamus Igitur. A su vez se vivió un emocionante momento con la toma del juramento Nightingale de los nuevos titulados de la carrera de Enfermería.
