Dear <<First Name>>

Welcome to our very first newsletter and before you say ‘Oh my goodness something else to take up my valuable time’, I want to assure you it has been designed with busy people in mind. We want it to be something enjoyable as well as informative and relevant to our industry, highlighting only four key areas with something new in every issue.

Our newsletter title is ‘In Kind’, kind being an acronym for:

Knowledge - sharing the latest information,
Inspiration - sharing something that inspires us and hopefully you,
News - sharing what we are doing, what’s new and what is happening around us, and
Design - sharing the latest products suitable for our industry.

The newsletter is our way of sharing what we have seen, researched, discovered and experienced, so we can pass on to you the latest and greatest information. Our aim is to be continually improving aged care and retirement so it is an exciting place for all to be.

We hope you enjoy our very first edition of ‘In Kind’ and wish you all a very Merry Christmas and look forward to seeing you in the New Year.

We will be heading off for a well earned break from 22nd December with some of the team returning on 3rd January.

Best Wishes,
Debbie de Fiddes
Managing Director

INSPIRATION

Colour of the year

Pantone recently announced ‘Greenery’ as their colour for 2017. This is the colour of Balance and Harmony, qualities we endeavour to include in our interior design schemes. Every room needs greenery be it fabrics or plants. We are looking forward to specifying more of this beautifully uplifting colour over the next year.

KNOWLEDGE

‘Everything is gone’

We recently came across a very interesting research paper, which had been presented as a Poster Presentation at the ADI Conference in Budapest. The paper was titled “Living with dementia in a nursing home, as described by persons with dementia” (M Mjørud, K Engedal, J Resvik, M Kirkevøld, J Røsvik).

What a busy year 2016 has been for all the team!

Debbie has attended and presented at a number of industry conferences in Australia and internationally, had a study tour through the Netherlands, England and Scotland, had several articles published in journals and magazines, researched and presented to client groups on trends in aged care and retirement and to top off her year Debbie decided to tie the knot and was married in November.

DESIGN

Artificial Intelligence

The buzzword is Artificial Intelligence and there is no doubt this will have a big impact on our industry.

Intelligent toilets are just one example. Some of these loos not only wash and dry, but can measure sugar levels in urine, blood pressure, heart rate, body fat and weight and the results can be sent directly to the RN or doctor.
