Remembering Elliott Schwartz
"One of Maine's most influential classical music composers"

We write to share the sad news that composer Elliott Schwartz passed away last week. He was 80 years old. Elliott was a dear Festival friend and we greatly admire the joy and beauty he brought into this world. We will always have the remarkable music he created and leaves behind.

For a moving and thoughtful reflection on the life and work of Elliott Schwartz please see the wonderful piece in the Portland Press Herald. (READ ARTICLE)

Thank you, Elliott, for your work, your passion, and your indomitable spirit.
