JIVA-APOHA DECEMBER: GIVING FREEDOM?

2016 was not actually the year of completion like we thought it would be. Instead, our passions were set alight, and it quickly became a time to give like never before—to make steel out of tin foil and to make the seeking of justice our most primary concern. As we peer behind the curtain to 2017, we realize that we need to recharge for the fight and keep going. How do we find resolution in the things with no end in sight? How do we complete the circle we so badly want to complete? We need to come to terms with the fact that the fight is never ending.
On the flipside of that coin, the secret gift of incompletion is the stoking of the fires within us to a higher degree than ever. Vitality means something new to us right now. What if we could learn to revel in the wildness of our times? What if we could accept the lack of control, and just try to let it flow in a really beautiful way? Just be strong and feel strong. Trust intuition. Respect the direction of the wind, but don’t be afraid to walk against it. We can pass right over moments of over-thinking and being trapped inside our heads.
We can now celebrate the first major victory of the #NoDAPL movement. The blinding pressure placed on Barack Obama to intervene and order the cessation of construction finally met its resolution, but there is still a long way to go, and there will be many more twists and turns in the coming year. The tireless Water Protectors, the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, the Veterans and all those who are taking care of all the protesters have all worked incredibly hard. This is only the first victory of many to come! For the coming months, or until a more permanent agreement can be reached and effectively put into law, we’ll continue to donate 20% of the proceeds from every sale of HOLY GRASS BODY to Standing Rock to continue the fight into the next Presidency. In 2017, we are going to become even more organized and supportive of the charitable causes that mean so much to us. We will make frequent announcements via newsletters, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook regarding any special events, updates to our donation schedule and sales on our products which benefit specific charity groups. We're so grateful for any support you can lend to these causes. We must let our light shine so our children know where to go, whether that’s our way or another way. Freedom still means something profound, and so does the commitment which comes when we learn to gauge the weight of what that word truly means.
