Merry Christmas

from all of us at

Villa St Joseph

The Villa St Joseph family sends
Seasons Greetings
To you and your family

We pray that this season of joyful hope and anticipation finds you well.  This newsletter comes to you after  “Gaudete Sunday.” Gaudete means “rejoice” in Latin.

We rejoice in the coming of our Lord and Saviour.

Christmas is fast approaching and we often forget the true meaning of this season.  We are busy with our preparations.  It is a good time to slow down and contemplate the gift that Jesus is.  The courage that Mary had to say 'Yes",  to the invitation of God to be the one who bore his son and our redeemer into this world.  And lets not forget Joseph who also heard the voice of God through an Angel and said his 'Yes" to be the foster father of Jesus.

May you find the time to contemplate and remember your "Yes's" to God.

Blessings to you from all us here at the Villa:
Srs. Linda, Mary, Teresa, Christine and Nettie

Speaking of busy......

We have been preparing for Christmas our selves, here at the Villa.  We had our annual bake day where each member of the team made several different cookies.

Nettie decorated the house as only Nettie can do.

The Villa is ready for Christmas and all the celebrations.

GM seeds were the answer for a starving world. This was in the late 80’s -90’s. Canada and United States bought into that message. Western Europe did not. Read More

The Green Window - Living Into Sabbath

The season of Winter calls us to quiet waiting on life hidden in the dark earth. The liturgical season of Advent similarly invites stillness as we await the re- birth of Christ in our hearts and world; Christ ever-present and yet to come.

The Biblical Tradition echoes the patterns of Earth. Wendell Berry says the Tradition “elevates just stopping above physiological necessity, makes it a requirement, an observance of the greatest dignity and mystery”. It is called, Sabbath.  Read More
