Volunteers are making Forfar shimmer and shine for 2017!
The weekend before Christmas, 28 volunteers embarked on a journey to Forfar Field Station. They endured winter weather and a few delayed flights to get to Forfar, then completed many tasks putting in over 440 man hours of work (which would have taken our maintenance staff months to complete!)
Together they removed invasive snake grass from most of the property, power washed and painted two of the storage containers, and re-sanded the drive by the lodge and the fire pit area. They also weeded and re-rocked all the flower beds and fire pit area, built new stairs for the Staff cabin deck, built a new swing, cleared debris from behind the cabins, fixed the basketball area, and sanded and painted Big Boat. Additionally, they poured concrete in the lodge bathroom floors, weeded the garden, cleaned out the landscape tool area, removed the office trailer, organized and cleaned the classroom and ping-pong room, and made other minor repairs on the cabins.
