Christmas pop-up at Serious Pig
Our final Christmas pop-up at Serious Pig happens this Saturday. We've got lashings of craft beer from around the globe, Serious Pig's craft meat from right here in Peckham, hot sauce, mulled Gosnells mead and gift packs galore.
We loved seeing so many of you out and about last weekend. Pop in and enjoy a drink and a meaty snack with Glenn and the Serious Pig team, and sort out the last of your shopping in the festive surroundings of the Serious Pig HQ, Arch 221, Blenheim Grove, just 1 minute from Peckham Rye Station. (Have a pint with our pals at Brick Brewery then keep on walking!)
New beers It's another BUMPER list of new beers this week. Christmas bonus! You can get the full lowdown over at our Beer Menu, on our Untappd page or on our online shop. For a topline overview of the highlights, read on...
Kernel Export Stout Raspberry - the beer that blew our minds when the Kernel team dropped it in last week. Delightfully dry with a fruity kick. Buy it before Catherine drinks the lot.
Two new Marble majesties - Sister Agnes, a bretted morello cherry old ale, and The Pit & The Pendulum, a bourbon barrel-aged version of their glorious Portent of Usher Imperial Stout.
Fiercely festive beers - two new, beautifully wrapped beers from Fierce Beer in Scotand: White Christmas, a spiced winter ale, and Black Christmas, a spiced porter.
This charming can - Yeastie Boys debuts in cans with the extremely smashable session IPA Bigmouth (also now pouring on flagon-fill).
Returning beers include this year's Applelation Saison from Beavertown, Wild Beer Redwood 2016 and Buxton Rain Shadow - this time, the Single Barrel Imperial Stout version! Arriving tomorrow: Cloudwater v10, Lost & Grounded Keller Pils and Running With Sceptres, and more...
The Beer Lover’s Table: Bulgogi and Brew by Numbers Saison Citra
Dry old turkey this Christmas? Get in the sea. Our food columnist Claire Bullen reimagines Christmas dinner with this hot take on bulgogi (Korean marinated beef for the uninitiated), perfectly paired with a Brew By Numbers Saison. Sweetness, purring heat, acidic tang and fermented funk - this is a festive feast we can get behind. Get Claire's recipe here.
And finally...
We're delighted to have been invited to kick this year to the kerb and usher in the next one at The Old Nun's Head this New Year's Eve. The illustrious Count Sizzle will be banging out the beats and Burger Bear dishing out the eats earlier on, before we get behind the decks to dish out the disco from 11.30pm til late. Join us for the countdown...
