 Sunday Morning Family Zendo

Family Zendo at the Albuquerque Zen Center is a bi-monthly program for parents, step-parents, expecting parents, grandparents, family members, and children of all ages who are interested finding greater calmness and clarity, interested in mindfulness practice, mindful parenting, and Zen Buddhism. This event is centered around a weekly 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Sunday service, with serious introductory Zazen sitting practice for adults, while children's programs will occur, including mindfulness activities, dharma storytelling, and snack period.

This service differs from our formal sitting periods in a few ways to meet the needs of both parents and children.  Newcomers instruction occurs as needed during the opening services with short explanations of Zendo etiquette.  The parent and child sitting period may be shortened to meet needs and abilities of individual children.  Young children are allowed to move or sit in laps.  They may also check-in quietly on their caregivers sitting in the Zendo at any time during the activity period.

This program is free and completely supported by donations and member contributions. Your donations are welcome.
Suggested donation: $5-10 per adult, $1-5 per child.
