Goodbye 2016...Hello 2017

'Yoga is about creating a relationship with ourselves, diving deep into the very fabric of our being to discover our truth and to make friends with all that we are.'

Linda Sparrowe

Welcome to this December newsletter. As this year moves toward its end I'd like to acknowledge and thank you all for being part of the journey. I've known some of you for many years and some I've met more recently but my gratitude for your ongoing support and presence is a valued part of my year. We grow through our associations and interactions with those around us and I feel blessed to be touched by so many caring and interesting people.
This time of year can be stressful and joyous simultaneously and managing this can be a challenge. Read my notes below on how to Maintain your Balance at this and other busy times to lighten the load.
Once again, I'm truly delighted to invite you to next year's Yoga retreat in Bali, Living with Gratitude Grit and Grace. In early May we return for the fourth time to Bambu Indah, our unique Bali home. Read below for full details.
I'll be announcing another retreat for 2017 shortly, so stay tuned.

A luxurious 7 day/6 night retreat to rekindle your relationship with yourself through the power of Yoga and the delights of Bambu Indah, our Bali home.

Living with Gratitude Grit and Grace
Bali Yoga Retreat
6 - 12 May 2017

with Margaret Ferla
at Bambu Indah, Ubud, Bali

Retreats are periods spent away from your everyday life. They offer time and space to do something different. More than just a holiday a Yoga retreat adds a blend of physical movement, focused breathing, reflection, meditation and more, all of which promotes a more aware and connected self.
On this retreat you’ll explore the deep and nourishing qualities of Gratitude, Grit and Grace and how they impact and guide your life. A traditional Hatha Yoga practice will be the prism through which we explore and navigate these gifts.
On leaving the retreat you’ll feel a fresh, calm, clarity that will travel with you back into your every day to re-engage in life with new skills and a fresh perspective.

Maintain your Balance

As we engage in the active warmth of the summer months and share in the merriment of this years festive season it is all too easy to step out of balance and into tiredness, stress, irritability and impatience. Lots of fun and celebration can be exhausting. To avoid this pitfall and find time and energy to fully enjoy your personal engagement with socialising, celebration and transition to a new year with ease, health and joy, add one or more of these activities to your week to maintain calm and balance :

  • add a 20 minute power nap to your afternoon
  • go to bed an hour earlier than your usual time twice a week
  • drink plenty of water to stay hydrated
  • meditate for 10 minutes, twice a day
  • eat healthy fresh foods to take care of your inner body
  • gift yourself peace and quiet to rest your mind
  • enjoy silence and breathe
  • do some slow flow yoga and feel, sense and relax
  • sit under the night sky alone

Balance - 'To hold a point of steadiness and moderation. To find a point of equilibrium and peaceful coexistence in the midst of change.’                                                                                                                                                                                                            The Angel Cards Book
