Jacqueline will be teaching one of her most requested workshops and SOMETHING NEW this winter in the Greater Cincinnati area. Transparent Collage will be offered over 3 sessions and each session is 3 hours long. Altered Aprons - Jacqueline's new workshop ~ is an all day class to create a very personal artist apron to gift or keep !

Transparent Collage

Come to class and make your own collage papers with tissue and paints and some textural elements !  

This workshop will have 3 sessions and each will be 3 hours in length. Students will make their own collage papers with tissue and paints and textures. Class is appropriate for all levels of artists. You will learn about color theory and building collages with acrylic mediums. We will make all manner of interesting textures with things like coffee grounds, tea leaves, sawdust and mica flakes! The different types and uses for various acrylic mediums will also be discussed. Adding imagery to your collages as well as the layout and design of a good collage will also be an integral part of this class.

Each student will receive a set of instructive handouts and color photos for the various techniques that are covered in this workshop.


YOUR SUPPLY LIST:  [students are responsible to bring to workshop]
  • Paint brush - 1" that is good for acrylics
  • Water Container – 16 to 32oz size; plastic
  • Box of white tall kitchen garbage bags (must have at least 10 bags)
  • Misc collage elements, images, etc.(images should be laser prints on copy paper - no photo or magazine papers)
  • Stretched canvas -  about 12" x 12" or 11" x 14"
  • 1 pkg of Spectra Art Tissue - white
  • Scissors, Apron, Notebook, Paper Towels
  • OPTIONAL ITEMS  you might like to bring:  Stencils + Stamps

ALTERED APRONS 
Come spend the day and enjoy designing your very own art apron that you can splash paint on! Yes, splashing paint will just add more color to the design of your apron. You’ll learn about painting and printing fabrics with various acrylic techniques. Color theory will be discussed and you will be able to make your own personal color choices for your apron. Everyone will start with a white apron and paint it using a watercolor like technique.

GET REALLY CREATIVE.... with stamps, thermofax screens, buttons and trims to complete the perfect  artist apron look! 

Every apron will be different and unique just like its designer !

Jacqueline Sullivan is a mixed media, acrylic and calligraphic artist. She is well known for her pieces that experiment with texture, layers, paint, unusual materials, calligraphic marks and words. Jacqueline’s work has been shown nationwide in galleries and juried art fairs. She is a GOLDEN ARTIST Educator and has a degree in graphic design working for many years as a publication and advertising designer. For over 30 years Jacqueline has also been a teaching artist and currently travels throughout the US and Canada teaching artists of all levels to stay in touch with their creative selves.
