Our Advent Series, Micah: Waiting on the Lord, continues this week with a sermon from Erik on Micah 6:1-8. We invite you to read ahead as a way to prepare for Sunday's service.
Location of Sunday's Service: Due to Grace Covenant's annual Candelight Service, our December 18th worship service will be held down the street at Beth Ahabah (1117 W. Franklin Street). Worship will begin at 4pm, as usual. We will have limited access to the parking deck across the street, and there is also street parking available; please build in a little extra travel time just in case. Nursery and Children's Worship will still take place.

A Home for Christmas: If work or school or some other reason means that you will be alone on or around Christmas, please let us know. City Church has several families ready to add an extra chair or two at Christmas dinner so that you can celebrate with your church family this season. Women's Retreat: Our Women’s Retreat will be Saturday, January 28th through Sunday, January 29th at Roslyn Retreat Center. Patricia Higgins Clarke–a native Richmonder–will serve as our speaker. Patricia has spent years leading and teaching women and has a passion for seeing women come to faith in Christ and walk with Him through all of life’s stages. Registration is $130. Women's Holiday Happy Hour: Bring a friend and join other women from City Church for a Holiday Happy Hour on Monday, December 19th at 5:30pm at the Quirk Hotel! Contact Meg Haden, meg@citychurchrva.com with any questions.
Christmas Eve Services: We will have two Christmas Eve services: a family-friendly service of Lessons & Carols at 3pm and an 11pm Lessons & Carols service with the Lord’s Supper. Both services will take place in the sanctuary at Grace Covenant. Childcare is not provided during these services. Please note: we WILL have worship on Christmas Day at 4pm.
End-of-Year Giving: Please note that all end-of-year contribution checks need to be in-hand or postmarked by December 31st to go towards 2016 deductions. Checks with a postmark of December 31st (or before) will be counted as 2016 giving if they are received no later than January 9th, 2017. Online gifts will still need to be made by December 31st (some credit cards take 3-5 business to process, so please take that into consideration).

We'll provide meals for Kelli, Aaron, and Cleo's big brothers, Isaac and Evan, for several weeks as they adjust to life at home as a family of five. Volunteering in 2017: Looking to get more connected at City Church in 2017? Volunteering during our worship services is a wonderful way to both serve the church and get to know new people. Over the next few weeks our Ministry Team Leaders will begin putting together our volunteer rotation for February-May of 2017. In an effort to help them streamline this process a bit, we wanted to give you the opportunity to go ahead and sign up for the team(s) you'd like to join.
