Mountain Bike the Tetons Year in Review

Mountain Bike the Tetons had a busy 2016. 2017 is going to be even busier with new trails to build, lots more trail maintenance to do and an increasing need for mountain bike advocacy in the region. We can't do it without you. Thank you Fisher Creative for helping us tell our story.

Teton Winter Singletrack Grooming Campaign a Huge Success

Last week, Mountain Bike the Tetons, Friends of Pathways and Teton Valley Trails and Pathways put a challenge out to the fat bike community: help us raise $5,200 in one week and we'll provide a regional grooming program that will groom singletrack in Cache Creek, Teton Springs and Pioneer Park.

WE DID IT!

Between December 7 and December 15 the community raised $6,390 on Crowd Rise, far surpassing our original $5,200 goal. The Hub Bicycles, Hoback Sports/JMMR, Headwall Sports, Teton Mountain Bike Tours and Peaked Sports then each donated $500 to the campaign match. Finally, the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole made a $950 grant to support the cause. In total, we raised $9,840.  Thank you to all who donated to the cause!

Donations came from fat bikers, runners, cross-country skiers, businesses and local bike shops. Funds will pay for fuel, equipment, rollers, replacement parts, insurance and human grooming labor in Cache Creek, Pioneer Park and Teton Springs. If the program becomes permanent in Cache Creek (this year it's a pilot program), we can now afford to purchase a snowmobile for Cache.

A special thank you goes to Fitzgerald's Bicycles and Salsa Cycles for donating a Salsa Beargrease to the campaign raffle and for donating the use of their snowmobile and time in Cache Creek this year. Ken Davis was the lucky raffle winner for the bike.

MBT, FoP and TVTAP are currently working on a way to update singletrack grooming conditions all in one place. Stand by for more info on that effort and also for a regional grooming schedule. In the meantime, you may check the Cache Creek report here and Teton Springs/Pioneer Park here.

Wyoming Non-Motorized Permits

Please consider purchasing a Wyoming Non-Motorized Use Permit to support the Wyoming state grooming program.

Fat Bikers are not required to purchase a non-motorized use permit, but there's no better way to show support for State Trails in Wyoming than contributing to grooming the trails you ride. Fat bikers are the newest user group on most groomed trails. Purchasing a permit will help other users accept fat bikers on shared trails and show fat bikers are willing to pay to play.

To purchase:
