This month's update letter

Merry Christmas to you and your family. We are very thankful that you have decided to make this Great Commission Journey (Matthew 28:16-20) with us. This journey did not start with us but, with the mystery of the birth of Christ. In our time grace has come to us! Prophets of old searched intently and with the greatest care… They preached of the gospel to come… Even the angels long to look into these things. This journey to:  Go and make disciples… teaching them to observe all that Christ has commanded is a journey Christ asks of all his followers.

Margie and I will like to thank you for your prayers, encouraging emails, phone calls and financial support for 2016. Below is a brief highlight of some of the things your prayer, encouragement and financial support accomplished in 2016:

  • Assisted in the training of about 30 pastors and church leaders in Costa Abajo, Panama.
  • Moved to our country of service, Ecuador.
  • Completed the first half of Spanish language school.
  • Shared the gospel and distributed backpacks with school supplies to 100 Ecuadorian grammar school children affected by the earthquake (A First Baptist Church, in Union NJ Project).
  • Margie translated for a short term mission’s team from Wisconsin.
  • Assisted in the training of about 25 pastors and church leaders in Quito, Ecuador.
  • Obtained visa and half of our household goods.
  • Met with various leaders from the Ecuadorian Baptist Association about our future work in Manabí Province.

Here are some things you can pray for and your giving will go towards in 2017, with the Lord’s help:

  • Margie and I continuing to build a healthy marriage:

It is very easy to let the stress like a new culture, learning a new language, figuring out “their way of doing things”, worrying about financial support, seeing poverty, learning who to trust, safety concerns  and discouragement. It not only has the potential to drive a sane person mad but, even worse the enemy of our souls can and has used these things above to destroy marriages of many missionaries.

  • Completing second half of language school.
  • Moving from Quito, Ecuador to our field of service in Ecuador (June 2017)
  • Finding a home in an area that will be safe.
  • To support raise and purchase a car to do ministry
If you would like to make a special one-time gift to the purchase of a car please click on the link.
  • Building a ministry team and begin working in our ministry.
The way God has been leading us to pray lately encompasses a partnership of two other organizations and would expand our training to parts of the Province of Esmeraldas, Ecuador.
  • For God to give us an addition to our family.

We pray your 2017 will be one that will bring each and every one of you closer to the image of Christ

God Bless,

Kevin and Margie Bishop
