 Bob Burt
Before even starting school Bob was using his mother's drafting set to copy architectural plans from a French's Manual. As his childhood progressed, his art developed as he played with pastels and paint but Bob's true artistic passion was found in 7th grade ~ woodworking.
Encouraged by his mother, Bob received his first table-saw and responded by creating his first walnut dining table.
After graduating Oberlin College in 1970 he became a self-employed furniture maker and designer.  In time the beautiful veneers he acquired inspired Bob to create pictures--an art known as marquetry.

Perry Johnson

Perry Johnson is dedicated, having worked for 40 years detailing cars for Buick and never missing a day's works. Nowadays though, he has turned his focus to his development as an artist, spending hours every week painting and drawing. In this time he has found a natural talent for portraiture.

He is currently studying to develop his style as a portrait painter. Perry is a triplet and has a strong connection to The Three Stooges. You will find his work often includes informative text referring to those depicted in the paintings and features those who have made an impact in his life, such as family and friends. Perry focuses most of his energy and dedication towards open art studio, portrait drawing, photography, dance, and theater classes at the OSLP Arts & Culture Program.

Art Forum
~ Spitfire by New Zone artist Johnmichael Lahtinen

The Art Forum is a wonderful opportunity to network with other artists, get into shows and go on the occasional sensational field trip. Though spearheaded by New Zone artist you do not have to be a New Zone member to be part of the Art Forum and participation is FREE!

Meetings occur the 3rd Monday of each month from 6-7 pm and work towards building a stronger community through connecting local artist in a fun and creative manner. Participants are encouraged to bring a piece of work inspired by that month's theme.

Our next meeting is scheduled for:
January 16th and will be held at OSLP's Lincoln Gallery location, 309 West 4th Ave, Eugene (enter on Lincoln and go upstairs)

As December's Art Forum meeting was canceled due to the weather the optional challenge for January will remain "Fire."  We look forward to seeing you and your work there!
