Beer & Men's Ministry??

I Couldn't Believe the Stats...

In 2016, GRACE EXPLORATIONS has stayed busy - speaking to 15,000 men across 15,000 miles in 15 states in our inaugural year of ministry...

But these aren't the stats that surprised me.

Just days from now, I'll be high above the Atlantic, bound for Israel to organize a men's retreat there for next fall. I look back on a 2016 filled with beauty and life change. Yet, I can't count how often this year I asked myself, Is men's ministry really worth it?

Reaching men is hard, maybe you already know this. But just in case you've been tempted, like me, to shift focus away from men's ministry, consider this:

- If a CHILD is the first person in a household to become a Christian, there is a 3.5% probability everyone else in the household will follow.
- If the MOTHER is the first to become a Christian, there is a 17% probability everyone else in the household will follow.
- BUT, if the FATHER is first, there is a 93% probability everyone else in the household will follow. (Focus on the Family, "Promise Keepers at Work")

When We Reach Men, We Reach the Family!

In an attempt to reach the whole family, churches often create environments that can alienate certain men.

Grace Explorations exists to reach these men.

What if we built an environment just for men - Wild at Heart men? What if we peered into the darkness - the deep buried shame of the masculine journey - and helped men see themselves, not as criminals but climbers? Here's a quick clip of me explaining this in Kansas City:

Introducing BASE CAMP!

BASE CAMP will be the 1st Sunday night of each month starting March 5th, 2017 from 5-8pm at FOUNDERS BREWING CO. in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Sin and shame die when stories are told in safe places.

At BASE CAMP we'll introduce STORY HOUR - live interviews with notable guests who've discovered their Authentic Life, followed by audience Q & A. We believe that when men hear stories of loss and redemption, they'll gain the courage to explore the darkest, most destructive moments of their own lives to find the hope and grace only Christ provides.

At BASE CAMP we'll feast and fight for each other as a Band of Brothers in foreign fields, tell unforgettable stories in golden halls before a blazing fire like Warrior Poets of old, walk with limps as Wounded Healers who know their true names and live like Artist Adventurers who learn by doing life together.
