The board met on Tuesday, December 13. Below is a brief update from the board.
Happy New Year!
We have much to look forward to as we begin the new year at Skyview. Pastor Stuart will begin a series based upon our vision and values on January 15. We have the opportunity to meet in small groups on January 22nd and 29th as we continue to explore our vision and values. Skyview’s board, ministry leaders, and committee chairs will come together for a strategic planning weekend January 27th and 28th. And plans are underway for our upcoming Prayer Summit on February 19th. God is moving in our midst! Please pray diligently for Skyview during this season of Epiphany. Pray for strength and unity. Pray for the Williams and the Grahams. Pray for God’s provision. As we begin another year pray that we would each experience the transforming love of Christ.
Property and Skyview Home Committee Update
The board wishes to thank Riley Coulter, Hubert Howe, Jody Schwartz along with the other members of the Property and Skyview Home Committees for delivering an insightful update regarding the current status of our building project. This update followed a number of activities and milestones that have occurred over the past several months including the release of our development permit by the City of Calgary, the sale of a portion of our land, and the submission of our building permit. For more information please visit
ourskyviewhome.ca. We look forward to receiving regular updates from the Property and Skyview Home Committees throughout the year. Please hold up these two committees, their members, and their families up in prayer. Pray for wisdom, peace, rest, hope, unity, and trust in the Lord. Pray also for God’s provision for us as we continue to raise funds for this building project.
Strategic Planning Weekend January 27th & 28th
The board, ministry leaders, and committee chairs will come together for a strategic planning weekend January 27th & 28th. Previously referred to as the annual retreat our focus will shift this year as we lay the ground work for a 3 year strategic plan based upon our vision and values. We are pleased to have Joel Thiessen facilitate the weekend and the opportunity to learn from his research on
Flourishing Congregations. Please hold Skyview’s board, ministry leaders, and committee chairs up in prayer as we begin a new year. Pray that we would be attentive to the Lord’s voice and vision for Skyview. Pray too for unity, wisdom, and joy as we continue to seek the will of Christ at Skyview.
