A New Year at New Day!
Well, it was quite the year at New Day Orphanage! To sum it all up, we took 6 field trips, hosted a VBS, got 4 new children, and built 4 new buildings! Wes had a stroke, and Blu hit a cow. We started 1 new Bible study, fitted 27 prosthetic leg patients and 14 prosthetic eye patients, and got 2 new long-term volunteer teachers! 9 goats were born, 5 calves were born, and 135 volunteers visited the orphanage. We served over 5,500 plates of nshima at Kids Club, and over 20 people gave their lives to Christ ---- what a year! We are excited to see what 2017 holds for New Day! A NEW PLAYSCAPE
New Day is extremely grateful to Andrew & Christen Phipps from Welch, Texas for the donation of a new playground to go near the orphans' houses! It is exciting to think about how many young ones will play on this playscape in the future! Please pray for safety for the children as they enjoy playing, swinging, and climbing in their free time!

A NEW HOUSEMOTHER
New Day is looking forward to welcoming a new housemother into our family this month! Cecilia is a widow from Chipata, Zambia, who has raised many children of her own. She has been a Christian for many years and a faithful attendee of a Baptist Church in her area. We interviewed her in August, and she has been making preparations since then to leave her home 12 hours away and join us here! Please pray for Cecilia as she comes!

A NEW NURSE
We are so excited to share that New Day is welcoming Carol Wasson from Wagoner, Oklahoma to serve as a volunteer nurse from January - May! We are thrilled to have someone help set up a first aid station in our new clinic, take care of the miscellaneous cuts, scrapes, aches, and pains in all of our New Day children, and to lead basic health care classes in our area! Please pray for Carol as she adjusts to life at New Day!
